A guy at 2am told me to put my router in the fridge and honestly I need a tiebreaker
Last Tuesday my wifi kept dropping every 10 minutes while I was up at 1am trying to finish a download, and some guy in a chat said my router was overheating so I should stick it in front of the AC vent. I did it, and the drops stopped for two nights, so I was ready to call him a genius. Then on night three it dropped again and a different person told me the fridge trick just masks a dying unit and I should replace it. Now I have a router sitting on a chair next to a fan, feeling like an idiot, and I can't tell if the advice worked or if the drops just stopped on their own. Was the fridge guy right or did I get lucky for 48 hours?
